Columbus also has a number of distinctive neighborhoods within the metro area from which to rent an apartment. The Short North, rich with large homes and beautiful shops, comprise a type of Victorian village. German Village to the south is known for its quaint 19th century brick cottages. Franklinton, sometimes known as "the Bottoms", is the neighborhood immediately west of downtown. The Ohio State University (OSU) area is populated by a high concentration of students during the school year (approximately 50,000 students). Ohio State University (OSU)

Ohio State University is one of the largest college campuses in the United States. Columbus is home to the Ohio State Buckeyes college football team and plays at Ohio Stadium. "Buckeye fever" permeates Columbus culture year-round and forms major part of Columbus's cultural identity.

On the campus of The Ohio State University, one can find The Wexner Center for the Arts, a contemporary art gallery and research facility located on the OSU campus, and the Ohio State University Athletics Hall of Fame, located in the Jerome Schottenstein Center (home of the OSU basketball and men's ice hockey teams).
