Minneapolis Apartments
Minneapolis is the largest city in the state and lies leisurely on both banks of the Mississippi River. It adjoins with its twin-city, the state capital of St. Paul. Like St. Paul, Minneapolis is famous for being a walkable city. The city is also famous for the Mall of America. The University of Minnesota dominates the Minneapolis college scene and as with every college-town, there are always plenty of apartments in the area. Even though the overall cost of living is 12 percent below the national average, apartments in this prime area don't reflect lower prices. Apartments rent in the range of $800 and up.
St. Paul Apartments
St. Paul sits at a cost of living that is only 9 percent lower than the national average. Ironically though, the costs of apartments are not more, but a little less expensive than those in Minneapolis. Apartments can start at $150 less than those found in its twin-city. When you're looking for an apartment in St. Paul, you will certainly be taken with the many enclosed walkways that virtually connect all of the downtown area. Located along the Mississippi, St. Paul has a culture that is rich in heritage and is sometimes described as the somewhat "bookish brother" to Minneapolis. The neighborhoods don't have as many bars, nightclubs or theaters, making it a quieter community for the more subdued apartment seeker.
